Assignment 2 Issue is indigenous views on early childhood from different perspectives. For instance different societies views or countries etc. Ensure to relate to the film babies which can be seen on the following link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyaG4npEyP8 The assignment requires a submission of a comparative analysis (1000 words) of two sets of images ( read note 2 for information about the two sets of images) and their descriptions (no word limit, to be presented in appendices). The analysis explains which issues with regard to the learning outcomes which are: 1. Critically reflect on their assumptions about the child, the family and early childhood education 2. Describe the field of early childhood education and discuss its historical and philosophical base 4. Examine the continuing effects of changing socio-cultural contexts and advances in technology, including ICT on the child, the family and early childhood education programs and services 5. Analyse the social and cultural influences that might shape the identity of the young child (GA1); comparing the two sets of images. The issues are discussed with reference to the relevant literature. Note 1: Each set of images has to include photographs and pictures, which describe a particular view on childhood or its aspect. The two sets of images have to be quite different from each other to inspire a fruitful comparison. Differences may be historical, social or international, or all of them combined. Each set of images needs to be accompanied by a description of what image of childhood it demonstrates. Please, think creatively of the sources of images (internet, books, magazines, visual arts; images of the artefacts used and environments; scanned documents, advertisements and posts). Images have to reflect the ecosystem of the child and socio-historical context. Note 2: Please, annotate your appendices and all images very clearly and use the same system of annotation throughout the assignment. It should be clear at all times what you refer to and where to find the image or the particular bit of information. Please ensure you read chapters from Jones and Clark and include quotes from them in the analysis. Reference must not be more than 10 years ago as the tutor asked so.
